Hearing that Juan Lagares to the disabled list is the most likely roster move to clear the roster spot for Brandon Nimmo. That's bad news for Lagares. He appears headed for surgery to repair a partially torn ligament in his left thumb.

What if Red Sox are done dealing? John Farrell: "We feel like this is a complete team when you look at balance from a position-player standpoint and the guys in our rotation. It's up to us to go out and execute and perform to our abilities."

Brandon Nimmo is returning to the Mets from Las Vegas. The move gives the team a lefty-hitting center fielder, which could lessen the need to use Michael Conforto at the position. The corresponding move is not yet clear, but Yoenis Cespedes is dealing with a balky quadriceps and Jose Reyes has an intercostal strain on his left side.

Despite knuckleballer Steven Wright's struggles to grip ball in sticky, humid or wet conditions, Red Sox manager John Farrell said he can't possibly consider scratching him from future starts in that type of weather. Nature of a five-man rotation doesn't allow for that type of manipulation with starting pitchers.

The market seems to be focused almost exclusively on pitching right now. The supply is picking up w/ a few teams in the middle pack willing to sell (CWS, KC, NYY, PIT). Not much action at all w/ position players outside of Reddick and Lucroy.

The Brewers "reengaged" the Mets today regarding a trade for catcher Jonathan Lucroy, although no deal is considered close, Foxsports.com reported. Sandy Alderson said earlier this week that any initial proposal was dead on arrival.
