Tigers reliever Alex Wilson, who recorded a pair of outs in the bottom of the seventh, said it felt good to be used in a critical situation again. Admitted that this is the healthiest he's felt all season. Sounds like the All-Star break did him a world of good. Went up north with family, didn't even touch a ball. Said he can now tell a difference even when playing catch. Seems like it is paying dividends. Manager Brad Ausmus said that he wasn't sure if he's seen Wilson throw the ball that well all season.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera becomes only the eighth player in MLB history to reach the 400 home run and 1500 RBI milestone in the first 14 seasons played. His 2RBI single was more than just historic, though. It was also the sort of timely production that has been conspicuously lacking for Tigers lately. Said manager Brad Ausmus: "There's no question we've been kind of searching in recent games for that kind of hit."
