Dodgers snap Cubs' streak of 23 straight regular season wins in games started by Arrieta. It was tied for longest streak in MLB history.

A day after the Dodgers were held to one hit by the Cubs, they returned the favor with their own combined one-hitter. The Dodgers' 5-0 victory Tuesday countered the Cubs' 2-0 triumph Monday. Scott Kazmir pitched six scoreless and Corey Seager hit a three-run home run.

Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez, who entered tonight's game with a career-high ERA of 6.04, has another disastrous performance. The erratic starter lasted just three innings, giving up six runs on eight hits and three homers over the span of 64 pitches. Cannot see how the Tigers can afford to keep him in the rotation. Hasn't made any discernible progress, continues to leave team vulnerable every time he takes the mound. Seems a mental roadblock more than anything.

Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez made a mechanical tweak in his most recent bullpen session, one that left him feeling good and the Tigers seemingly encouraged. Guessing that optimism is going out the window quickly. Sanchez has given up two homers in the first two innings; most recently, a three-run shot to Angels star Mike Trout. 5-2 LAA
