As a former GM here is why Braves GM John Coppolella says he doesn't expect to trade Julio Teheran: 1. He doesn't want the player to be thinking about the possibility which could disrupt his performances. 2. He wants the leverage in trade negotiations that not only he doesn't have to trade him but is not inclined unless he is totally overwhelmed and wins the deal. 3. If he doesn't get what he wants in trade offers and holds on to the player, he's prepared the fan base for no deal. However, in their rebuilding process trading him is probably the best move based on where they are and the low inventory of quality starting pitching on the present trade market.....which should allow for a strong rebuilding trade just like the Shelby Miller trade they made in the off-season. Bottom line: ignore his comment.

The Dodgers' Kenta Maeda made a cool $1 million Saturday despite losing to the Pirates. An incentive in his contract, one of many, triggered the bonus after his 15th start. Maeda did pitch well outside of two home runs by Andrew McCutchen. The Dodgers lost 6-1 to Pittsburgh.

Steven Wright allowed three hits with his fastball (Moreland's two-run single, Beltre's RBI single, Andrus' three-run triple), which matches his season-high. He also gave up three hits on his fastball June 10 at Minnesota. Including tonight, he has thrown 263 fastballs (16.2 percent of his pitches) and allowed 15 hits, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

Steven Wright allowed a season-high eight runs, five in the fifth inning. But thanks to errors by Xander Bogaerts and Hanley Ramirez, only three of the runs were earned, leaving his ERA at 2.18, which still leads the American League.
