Jaguars' Julius Thomas to miss 4-5 weeks

The tight end needs surgery on a tendon in his finger, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Thomas will get a second opinion on Tuesday. Jacksonville signed the former Bronco to a 5-year, $46M contract this offseason.

Braves fan's death ruled accident

Gregory Murrey fell during the 7th inning of Saturday's game. The medical examiner ruled the death was caused by blunt force injuries to Murrey's head and torso. Murrey's family released a statement today, which read in part: "The night Greg passed away, he was doing one of his favorite things -- watching the Braves."

Mark Teixeira out for Red Sox series

Teixeira will head back to New York for more tests on a bone bruise on his right shin while the Yankees continue their road trip in Boston. Teixeira has started just one game since Aug. 17, when he fouled a ball off his leg. He leads the Yanks in homers (31), RBIs (79) and OPS (.905).


Shelby Miller's start moved up

Miller will pitch tonight instead of Tuesday because Mike Foltynewicz (illness) was scratched from the 7:10 p.m. start vs. Miami. Miller is 0-10 in his last 18 starts despite a 3.24 ERA.
