Boisterous Yankee crowd doing best to make Astros squirm, but Dallas Keuchel gives his team a chance to exhale by whiffing A-Rod.

Andrew Marchand ESPN Senior Writer

The Yankees' Masahiro Tanaka looked very sharp in a 1-2-3 first inning against the Astros. Tanaka struck out his first two batters. The crowd is really into it. They definitely were the loudest they have been all year.

Tanaka with a 7-pitch at-bat vs. Altuve. Pitch count not a big deal, though, because Girardi could go to his Big 3 relievers in 5th or 6th.

Yanks enter wild-card game in funk

New York finished with six losses in its last seven games and barely hung on to home field of tonight's game (8 p.m. ET on ESPN). Will the Yanks squash the concept of momentum or end a solid season unceremoniously?

Gordon Edes @GordonEdes

Here's reason for Jays fans to worry: ESPN's "experts," which includes yours truly, unanimously picked Jays to beat Rangers in div. series.

A World Series prediction sure to go wrong

Jayson Stark doesn't have the best track record when it comes to predicting World Series winners. But this year has to be different. Doesn't it? Sorry, Toronto

Keuchel's road game isn't the same

Dallas Keuchel's Cy Young candidacy rests on his insane numbers at home. He was pedestrian on the road, which is where he'll be tonight vs. the Yankees (8 p.m. ET on ESPN).

Carlos Correa: Same game, bigger stage

Despite the season being at stake, the Astros rookie SS said he's going to treat today's game like any other: "I gotta go out there and try to perform, not try too much because I'll end up doing nothing." And win or lose, he's still going to eat ice cream.
