Noah Syndergaard has been ejected for throwing behind Chase Utley with a third-inning pitch. Terry Collins also was ejected for arguing. Perhaps it was retribution for Utley's NLDS slide. But it's hard to fathom the Mets waited until Game 6 of the seven-game season series to do this.

Adam Wainwright and Mike Leake have been exchanging trash talk about their hitting since the team's Winter Warmup fan event in January. They wouldn't reveal the stakes, but they also have something riding on who finishes the season with superior numbers. Wainwright figures to collect on that wager as Leake is just 2-for-17 with a double. Wainwright, meanwhile, hit his third double, driving in two runs, in the second inning off Gio Gonzalez. He also has a triple and a home run and is 5-for-17 overall.
