How do you respond when a team throws a pitch behind your back? For Chase Utley it would be to hit two home runs, including a grand slam against the Mets. The Dodgers' infielder has five RBIs in seven innings to help his team to a 6-0 lead.

Tony Barnette replaces Darvish, who's night is over after a stressful 5th inning. He allows one run on three hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. He threw 81 pitches, including 51 strikes.

Dodgers pitcher Kenta Maeda recovered impressively after taking a line drive off his right hand in the first inning. He gave up no runs on two hits to the Mets and was removed after five innings, having thrown 75 pitches.

The Pirates turn a single, a stolen base and a two-out, two-strike single by second baseman Cole Figueroa into a run against Darvish. He still collects two more strikeouts, giving him seven, and has thrown 81 pitches. If he has a quick sixth inning, the Rangers might try to coax another inning out of him. But he's starting his third time through the lineup, so odds are the sixth will be Darvish's last. The Rangers had reliever Tony Barnette warming up with two outs in the fifth.

Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda has been in complete control since getting hit on the right hand/wrist by a line drive in the first inning. The Mets are 0-for-10 since as Maeda has pitched four shutout innings.

Through four innings, Darvish has allowed one hit and no runs, while striking out four, walking one and throwjng 60 pitches. He's kept Pittsburgh's hitters off-balance by changing speeds effectively. His fastball is sitting at 96 mph, while his slider is at 83 and his slow curve is at 70. Starling Marte struck out on three pitches in the third: a 93-mph fastball, followed by an 81-mph slider and a 95-mph fastball.

Noah Syndergaard has been ejected for throwing behind Chase Utley with a third-inning pitch. Terry Collins also was ejected for arguing. Perhaps it was retribution for Utley's NLDS slide. But it's hard to fathom the Mets waited until Game 6 of the seven-game season series to do this.

Adam Wainwright and Mike Leake have been exchanging trash talk about their hitting since the team's Winter Warmup fan event in January. They wouldn't reveal the stakes, but they also have something riding on who finishes the season with superior numbers. Wainwright figures to collect on that wager as Leake is just 2-for-17 with a double. Wainwright, meanwhile, hit his third double, driving in two runs, in the second inning off Gio Gonzalez. He also has a triple and a home run and is 5-for-17 overall.

And in the night's most awkward moment so far, Chase Utley steps back up to the plate after Noah Syndergaard's pitch went behind him. Syndergaard and Mets manager Terry Collins ejected.

When Daniel Murphy hit a shallow fly ball to right field and Stephen Piscotty couldn't make a diving catch on it, Murphy had his 41st base hit of May. That set a new Washington Nationals record for hits in any calendar month.

Butler crushes first home run of season

Billy Butler absolutely crushes this solo blast, his first home run of the season, to put the Athletics on the board first against the Tigers.

Adrian Beltre homers on the ninth pitch of his at-bat - a two-run blast - to give Yu Darvish a 3-0 first-inning lead.

The Dodgers' Kenta Maeda remained in Saturday's game despite getting hit in the right hand/wrist by a Michael Conforto comebacker in the first inning. Conforto reached first base on a single as the ball rebounded toward third base. Maeda was visited by a trainer and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts but remained in the game after throwing a few warm-up pitches.
