Why are the Dodgers hot after OF help at the trade deadline? They're 25th in OPS from their outfielders and have the fourth lowest OPS from their 3-4-5 hitters.

Dodgers reliever Adam Liberatore in his first outing since his scoreless outings streak ended at 28 on Sunday. Was nursing a sore knee.

Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda lasted just 6 1/3 innings Friday. He has made it to seven innings just two times in 21 starts. The Dodgers have a 3-1 lead on the Diamondbacks.

It's sad seeing Tim Lincecum scuffle through this outing for the Angels. He already has six walks in the fourth inning, has allowed four hits and a couple more hard-hit outs. His ERA is 8.45 and I'm not sure there is much incentive for the Angels to keep running him out there.

Ichiro throws out Wong from deep left

Ichiro Suzuki had a quiet night at the plate by going 0-for-4, leaving him two hits shy of the 3,000 Hits Club, but he dazzled the home crowd by throwing out Kolten Wong at home.

Terry Collins also noted that Jose Reyes may need to be placed on the disabled list. Reyes has been out since Game 1 of doubleheader on Tuesday with a strained intercostal muscle on his left side.

Terry Collins addressed the players after the game, telling the team they needed to keep things light. He figures putting so much pressure on themselves is hurting their run production.

As expected, Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel will make a minor-league rehab assignment Saturday for Triple-A Pawtucket. Kimbrel, who had minor surgery July 11 to clean up a torn meniscus in his left knee, is expected to start the game and pitch one inning. He will be reevaluated Sunday, and if all goes well, he could rejoin the Red Sox next week in Seattle.

Darwin Barney scoops, flicks for the out

It's like Barney has won a Gold Glove at second base before or something.

Bautista crushes longest homer of night

Jose Bautista wasted little time offering up a monster 444-foot solo shot in the first inning.

Part of the motivation for LAD in a Jay Bruce trade would be the increasing concern about Adrian Gonzalez's power: .371 SLG last 81g.

Move, Baez -- get out the way!

The umpire had no problem shoving Javier Baez out of the way to make a call.
