Nationals acquire Papelbon

The Phillies have traded Jonathan Papelbon to the Nationals for Double-A pitcher Nick Pivetta. The Nats picked up Papelbon's option for 2016, with his salary lowered from $13M to $11M. He also will take over the closer's job from Drew Storen.
