Cubs will take the 1-0 win over the Mets

It wasn't pretty. Only one run was scored. But the Cubs squeaked out the win. Said Eduardo Perez: "They'll take anything they can get right now."

Final: Indians 6, Rays 2

Danny Salazar threw 7 scoreless innings, ultimately giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, which gave the Indians' bats just enough time to pound in 6 runs to take the first 2 games of the series. Box score

Cubs halt Mets with 1-0 win

One run off Matt Szczur's RBI single was all the Cubs needed to snap the Mets' four-game win streak at Citi Field. Jonathon Niese fell to 3-8 despite holding Chicago to one run on four hits in seven innings. It's the eighth time the Mets were held scoreless this season. Box score
