Mason Williams to have shoulder surgery

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said the rookie OF's surgery is scheduled for Aug. 7. Williams went on the DL on June 21 after hurting his right shoulder diving back into first. He hit .286 in eight games in the big leagues.

Strasburg unsure of when he'll return

Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg struck out 11 in his first rehab start since injuring his oblique, but he doesn't have a timetable for his return to the team. "I feel good," he said. "Stuff's there, so it's just trying to keep doing the same things and keep working at all the stuff I've been doing. I'm going in the right direction."

Freddie Freeman lands on DL again

The Braves slugger was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an oblique injury. Freeman missed 30 games earlier this season with an injured wrist. His 14 HRs lead the team and his 45 RBIs are 2nd.
