That's the way to use your feet

A line drive ricocheted off Mets RHP Carlos Torres perfectly to 1B Daniel Murphy -- who flipped it back to Torres for the out. The good ol' 1-3-1.

It's going! It's going! It's -- off a catwalk

The Twins' Miguel Sano slugged a ball that was surely meant for the outfield stands -- but Tropicana Field's catwalk had other plans.

Melvin Upton Jr. channels Willie Mays

The Padres CF did his version of a basket catch in the team's loss to the Nationals.

Gordon gets two the hard way

Marlins 2B Dee Gordon turned a tough double play by tagging Josh Harrison out, then throwing to first on his knees to get Sean Rodriguez.

A Little League homer in the bigs

Not often do you see a single to right field turn into a trip around the bases, but Jose Bautista made it possible Thursday with a huge flub in right field.

Cards get out of jam to top D-backs

Seth Maness got out of a bases-loaded jam with no outs in the eighth, and the Cardinals held off the D-backs 5-3.

Mets plate 4 in top of 13th vs. Phillies

The Twins are hanging in the wild-card race, although their six-game win streak was snapped tonight. If they ARE going to win that second wild card they have to get better production from the outfield. Byron Buxton struck out four times and looks overmatched right now with 27 K's and three walks. And Torii Hunter is looking like he's 40, hitting .168 since July 1.

Nationals double up Padres

Ryan Zimmerman's two RBIs and Jayson Werth's solo homer helped the Nationals top the Padres 4-2.

Mets miss big chance in 11th vs. Phillies

With men on first and second with no outs, Daniel Murphy hit into a double play. And with men at the corners with two outs, Kelly Johnson struck out swinging to leave them stranded. We head to the bottom of the 11th tied 5-5. Follow live

Painful win for Nationals

CF Michael Taylor injured his knee chasing this Melvin Upton Jr. triple. Plus, Yunel Escobar left the game after getting hit on the hand, and after the game, the team said Denard Span would go back on the DL with left hip inflammation.

Rays end Twins' winning ways

The Twins' six-game winning streak came to an end with a 5-4 loss to the Rays, who ended a three-game losing skid. Logan Forsythe hit his 15th HR in the win.
