The ESPN Deportes report indicated that Uribe's camp is expected to make a decision soon.

The Dodgers are waiting for Uribe's response and are prepared to move on by trading for a third baseman or asking incumbent shortstop Hanley Ramirez to shift back to third and trying to land a shortstop.

Uribe, 34, had two dismal seasons with the Dodgers but capitalized on a poor start by incumbent third baseman Luis Cruz and took over everyday duties early last season. He batted .278 with 12 home runs and 50 RBIs, played excellent defense and had the game-winning home run in the decisive Game 4 win over the Atlanta Braves in a National League Division Series.

He recently concluded a three-year, $21 million contract with the Dodgers. He's also played for Colorado, the White Sox and San Francisco in 13 big league seasons.
