Doug Fister thinks the tide has turned when it comes to who has the best rotation in baseball, and he might just have a little to do with it.
"I've certainly been blessed to be a part of some teams and rotations I've been with," Fister told CSNWashington.com at the recent NatsFest. "I think here we are just as good, if not better."
The 29-year-old Fister certainly has experience when it comes to talented pitching staffs.
With the Tigers, he was part of a rotation with Justin Verlander, Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer, Anibal Sanchez and Rick Porcello. And while with the Seattle Mariners, Fister was behind Felix Hernandez and Cliff Lee in the rotation.
Fister, however, is excited to be surrounded by his new teammates with the Nats.
"Being able to meet them face-to-face, and being able to look forward to playing with them is something special to me," Fister told CSNWashington.com. "As a starting pitcher, I want to be a part of a rotation that works together, that brings the team sense into the five."
