PEARL, Miss. -- Atlanta Braves left-hander Mike Minor pitched two innings in a rehabilitation assignment at Double-A Mississippi on Thursday, giving up three runs and four hits while striking out five.
Minor struck out the first two batters he faced, but then gave up four straight hits, including a home run. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder struck out the side in the second. He threw 39 pitches, including 26 strikes.
He had urinary tract surgery on Dec. 31, which delayed his preparation for the season and then developed shoulder tendinitis during spring training.
Minor had a 13-9 record and a 3.21 ERA last season.
Right-hander Gavin Floyd also had a rehab start on Thursday, pitching for Triple-A Gwinnett. He lasted just 1 1-3 innings, giving up two hits and two runs while throwing 42 pitches.
