SAN FRANCISCO -- San Diego Padres manager Bud Black has been ejected for arguing a replay review that overturned a potential three-run home run.
Umpires initially ruled that Yasmani Grandal hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning Monday against the San Francisco Giants. But after a replay showed a fan reached over the fence in right-center to catch the ball, umpires changed the call to a double.
Seth Smith was sent back to third base instead of being allowed to score on a two-out hit to the deepest part of the stadium.
Black ran out of the dugout to challenge the ruling and was immediately ejected by crew chief Brian O'Nora.
