Clemson dismisses Kyrin Priester

Clemson true freshman receiver Kyrin Priester has been dismissed from the football team, coach Dabo Swinney announced Wednesday evening.

Swinney told reporters that Priester had an "attitude that is not acceptable to our standard."

Priester, a four-star recruit ranked in the ESPN 300, originally signed with Clemson in 2013. He failed to qualify academically and spent last season at Fork Union Military Academy. Priester eventually enrolled at Clemson in January and played on special teams last week against Georgia.

The Tigers have a revamped receiver group this season, but Priester had fallen on the depth chart to third-string. They have two other freshmen, Artavis Scott and Demarre Kitt, who are expected to be bigger contributors this season.
