Anibal Sanchez, Marlins finish hearing
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Pitcher Anibal Sanchez and the Miami Marlins have completed their salary arbitration hearing.
The right-hander asked a three-person panel Friday for a raise from $3.7 million to $8 million, and the Marlins argued he should be paid $6.9 million.
A decision by arbitrators Elizabeth Neumeier, James Oldham and Gil Vernon is expected Saturday.
Sanchez, who is eligible for free agency after this season, was 8-9 with a 3.67 ERA in 32 starts last year, when he struck out 202 in 196 1/3 innings.
