BALTIMORE -- Orioles left-hander Brian Matusz has been scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday night with a nose injury.
Matusz bruised his nose while bunting during batting practice on Tuesday. He was supposed to start Wednesday against Pittsburgh, but was moved back in the rotation to Friday.
Matusz says he feels fine and could have pitched if needed against the Pirates, but he was pushed back after a discussion with manager Buck Showalter.
Matusz says he's feeling a small measure of pain, but added, "I should be fine for Friday."
Jake Arrieta will start Wednesday for the Orioles. Arrieta was demoted to the bullpen after his last start and will be throwing on four days' rest.
