Aubrey Huff on 15-day DL
SEATTLE -- Aubrey Huff has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the San Francisco Giants after he sprained his right knee during the celebration for Matt Cain's perfect game against Houston.
The Giants made the move before opening an interleague series in Seattle on Friday. They also purchased the contract of Justin Christian from Triple-A Fresno and put him in the starting lineup at designated hitter against the Mariners.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy says Huff did not accompany the team on its nine-game road trip to Seattle, the Angels and Oakland. Bochy says he hopes the 15 days will be the right amount of time for Huff to recover.
Christian was hitting .364 with seven homers and 31 RBIs for Fresno.
