Futures Game rosters announced
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Right-handers Dylan Bundy and Gerrit Cole are among the top minor leaguers selected to play in next month's Futures Game at Kauffman Stadium.
Bundy has become one of Baltimore's top prospects in his first season of professional baseball and Cole pitched five effective innings in his first start for Pittsburgh's Double-A affiliate on Wednesday. Cole was the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft and Bundy went to the Orioles at No. 4.
Speedy shortstop Billy Hamilton, one of Cincinnati's top minor leaguers, also is on the U.S. roster for the July 8 game, part of baseball's All-Star festivities at Kansas City.
The teams were revealed on Thursday and include 17 former first-round draft picks. The Dominican Republic leads the world roster with eight players.
