WASHINGTON -- The Washington Nationals optioned left-hander John Lannan to Triple-A Syracuse despite registering a win against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.
Lannan was recalled for Saturday's doubleheader against the Braves and earned a win in the nightcap. He allowed two earned runs, five hits, two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings.
The Nationals leader with 10 wins last season, Lannan held the Braves without a hit over his final four innings in his first major league appearance this season.
The 27-year-old went 6-9 with a 4.89 ERA in 18 starts this season with Syracuse.
