Rockies put two on DL
DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies have put outfielder Michael Cuddyer and left-hander Christian Friedrich on the 15-day disabled list.
The Rockies made the moves before Saturday night's game against San Francisco.
Cuddyer has been bothered in the last several days by a strained right oblique muscle. He is hitting .260 with 15 home runs and 56 RBIs.
Friedrich was scheduled to start Sunday, but is out with a stress fracture in his lower back. He is 5-8 with a 6.17 ERA.
Friedrich became the fourth starting pitcher on the DL for the Rockies. He joined Jorge De La Rosa, Juan Nicasio and Jhoulys Chacin.
The Rockies recalled infielder/outfielder Matt McBride and right-handed reliever Edgmer Escalona from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
