Brett Lawrie placed on DL

TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays have placed third baseman Brett Lawrie on the 15-day disabled list.

Lawrie -- who has a possible rib cage injury -- is on the DL retroactive to Aug. 4.

On Wednesday, Lawrie missed his fourth consecutive game.

Lawrie had an MRI on Tuesday night that showed some oblique inflammation.
