CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Reds have optioned right-hander Todd Redmond to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, a day after he finally made his major league debut.
Redmond was called up for the fourth time this season Saturday to pitch the second game of Cincinnati's day-night doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs. He lasted 3 1/3 innings and got the decision in the Reds' 9-7 loss.
Redmond was recalled once by Atlanta before being traded to Cincinnati on July 14 for infielder Paul Janish and the Reds brought him up twice to be available in case a scheduled starter wasn't able to go, but he did not pitch.
