ST. LOUIS -- The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed outfielder Starling Marte on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right oblique muscle.
Marte, who is hitting .253 with four homers and 10 RBIs, was injured beating out a bunt single in the fifth inning of Saturday's 5-4 loss at St. Louis.
Outfielder Jose Tabata has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis. He started in left field and was in the leadoff spot in Sunday's game at St. Louis.
