Coco Crisp not in lineup again
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp is not in the starting lineup for a sixth straight game with an infection in both eyes.
Oakland manager Bob Melvin says Crisp has seen three different doctors, including a visit to a specialist in New York on Sunday. While Melvin says he holds out hope for a quick return, he adds Crisp's condition has not improved much.
Crisp last started Tuesday against Detroit before leaving that game in the fourth inning. He entered Friday as a pinch runner against the New York Yankees and stole a base.
Crisp is hitting .251 with 10 home runs, 42 RBIs and a team-leading 35 stolen bases as the A's start a key four-game series Monday against the first-place Texas Rangers. Oakland trails Texas by four games.
