How 'bout Lucroy, Jeffress to the Indians?

Plenty of teams have been linked to Jonathan Lucroy, but the Indians are the best fit, Jim Bowden writes. Add Jeremy Jeffress to the deal, and the Brewers could net themselves two of the Tribe's top prospects. Bowden: Trades I'd like to see (Insider)

Jerry Crasnick ESPN Senior Writer

Here's a twist to Milwaukee's Jonathan Lucroy trade talks: Lucroy's contract includes a limited no-trade clause that allows him to block deals to the Indians, Tigers, Angels, Nationals, Twins, Athletics, Padres and Mariners. Cleveland is the most noteworthy team on that list. The provision in Lucroy's contract doesn't preclude a trade, but it's an additional obstacle the Indians would have to surmount.

Cody Allen open to changing roles

Allen, the Indians' closer for the last three years, says he's open to pitching in a different role if the team lands a big-name reliever before the deadline. "I'm totally fine with it," Allen said. "I have no reservations. We talked about a few different things just to make sure everyone is on the same page." Cleveland.com
