The Orioles are suddenly lefty killers. On Friday, they beat White Sox southpaw Carlos Rodon, their third straight win against a lefty starter – they bested Chicago's John Danks on Thursday, and Tampa Bay's Matt Moore the day before that. A year after going 22-23 against southpaws, Baltimore is now 5-0 in games started by lefty hurlers.

A tale of two defenses: In the the bottom of the fifth, the White Sox committed two errors that led to three Orioles runs. Then in the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded and one out, the O's - whose nine errors are 2nd fewest in the AL - turned an inning-ending double play when Adam Jones snagged a Melky Cabrera liner, then gunned down Jimmy Rollins trying to tag up to preserve Baltimore's 3-2 lead.

No, you're not seeing things: That's a really small glove on Chris Davis' large left hand. To be exact, it's a 9.5-inch model, which is what your average Little Leaguer might use. The Orioles first baseman - whose uses a 12.5-inch game glove - sometimes wears the mini-mitt during warm-ups.

Three hours before game time, Orioles slugger Manny Machado - who yesterday snapped an 0-for-17 skid with a double and a grand slam - gets in some extra work with hitting coach Scott Coolbaugh.

Don't read too far into Jones' average

Adam Jones' .208 average is somewhat depressed by a .257 BABIP and 75 percent contact rate. But add just three ground balls sneaking through the infield and he's suddenly batting .271. Which surging, slumping players will continue? (Insider)

Move along: Time to cut bait on these players

When it comes to a team's future, now might be the time to clear some space. Dan Szymborski has a few thoughts on which players are cluttering rosters and need to be shown the door.
