Female coach to serve as A's instructor this fall

Justine Siegal, a female coach who was the first woman to throw batting practice for an MLB team, will serve as a guest instructor during the Athletics' instructional league that begins Sunday.

A's hire woman as Instructional League coach

The team named Justine Siegal a guest instructor, becoming the first MLB team to hire a female coach. Said Siegal, who will work with minor leaguers from Oct. 4-17, to the San Francisco Chronicle: "The A's are a first-class organization and it will be an honor to wear their uniform."
