Bay, Sanchez to rep Pirates at draft

Former Pirates OF Jason Bay and 2B Freddy Sanchez will represent the team at this year's MLB draft. Bay spent six of his 11 years in the majors with Pittsburgh and was named Rookie of the Year in 2004, while Sanchez won a batting title ('06) during his six years with the Bucs.

Source: Reds' Ohlendorf wins suspension appeal

Ross Ohlendorf, who was fined and suspended three games for throwing at Pittsburgh's David Freese May 11, won his appeal, a source told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Hurdle seeking info on collisions at home

Following Saturday's unsuccessful challenge on Rockies catcher Tony Wolters' block at home plate that prevented Jung Ho Kang from scoring, Pirates manager Clint Hurdle has made some calls seeking information. “I'm looking for somebody that's been in a dugout for a long period of time, with some experience, to explain to me why it wasn't a block,” Hurdle said.
