Padres DJ apologizes for anthem mixup

Art Romero, known professionally as DJ ArtForm, posted a statement on his Facebook page apologizing for his role in the controversial incident that took place during the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus' anthem on Saturday. "It was a very unfortunate mistake but it was just that, an error," he wrote. San Diego Union-Tribune

Major League Baseball is investigating an incident at Petco Park in which a recording of a woman's voice was played instead of a gay men's chorus being allowed to sing the national anthem.

Upton earns climb in lineup

Padres LF Melvin Upton Jr. has moved up the lineup due to his production at the plate. Manager Andy Green made the move amidst San Diego's struggles to get on base. β€œAt the top of the lineup, you want guys to get on base,” Green said while explaining why he had Upton batting second in the series finale against the San Francisco Giants. β€œβ€¦ Melvin has done that better than anyone else on our team." The San Diego Union-Tribune
