Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin, on whether Josh Donaldson will play Friday after taking a knee to the head: "I'm not Josh Donaldson’s head. I don’t know how he’s feeling. I hope it’s not too bad. He’s as tough as they get. If he can play, he will play.’' Added pitcher David Price: “I talked to him as soon as I came out and he said he felt a lot better at that time. The next couple of hours I’m sure will tell him a lot. If he’s in the lineup tomorrow, that’s great. If not, we still have a couple more guys who can drive the ball out of the yard.’' Having seen the debilitating effects concussive symptoms had on David Ross, Brock Holt, Stephen Drew and Steven Wright, I can tell you toughness has nothing to do with it."

Rangers GM Jon Daniels said Adrian Beltre has a lower back strain and is day to day. He said the MRI showed nothing major. Texas is flying in players just in case the back worsens. If they need to replace him, Beltre would not be eligible to play again until the World Series "The news would have to worse than it is now for us to consider that."
