Josh Thomson doesn't make many mistakes. He's been stopped one time in his entire career and that was by an incredible ninja head kick courtesy of Yves Edwards. All the mini-battles that make up a fight -- Thomson tends to win those. He's a grappler at heart, though, and that might not be the best thing against Nate Diaz. As technical as Thomson is on the ground, submitting Diaz will be a tall order. Taking him down will be difficult, too. Thomson has a good double leg when he times it right, but he's not the overwhelming wrestler who's given Diaz trouble in the past. Thomson dictates range with kicks and has above-average speed, but Diaz holds a significant size advantage.
