We sort of know what this matchup looks like, having seen it twice before. Gray Maynard will land on the inside, while Nate Diaz will fight like a Diaz -- volume punching, occasional kicks, constant pressure. In a two-fight losing streak, Diaz has lost badly to an athletic wrestler and versatile, lateral-moving kickboxer. Maynard is really neither of those. He can wrestle for sure, but his style of wrestling won't be as effective on Diaz as Ben Henderson's was, plus he doesn't have Henderson's size. Maynard should be Maynard here. He's good at stepping into his punches and closing distance. He has hand speed, technical combinations and plenty of power at 155. I doubt he wrestles much, given Diaz's tricky guard and the fact he has gotten away from it over the years anyway.
