MMA Power Rankings -- Featherweight
Wednesday, May 4
Jose Aldo's performance at UFC 129 was what we expected for the most part -- a freakish display of striking and movement, often independent of one another and at the same time. Yet the fact that Mark Hominick was able to wrest away the fifth round despite looking like a car crash victim doesn't do anything to drop Aldo from the top spot. Hominick says he would have won in a theoretical sixth. If they fights could be tailored like that, bantamweight Dominick Cruz may never lose again.
Joe Warren continues to climb this week, and the virtual unknown Dustin Poirier -- who thoroughly shined in his UFC and featherweight debut --dropped Josh Grispi from the rankings. We'd be remiss to not include the newly retracted Kenny Florian, who shows up on the featherweight radar for the first time in front of his battle with Diego Nunes.
