Weight Class:

Jose Aldo is the valedictorian of the featherweight class, and it would have been fun to see him in Philadelphia against undefeated, No. 3-ranked Chad Mendes. Instead, Mendes will take on the ever-game Rani Yahya at UFC 133, and Aldo is likely to see the fast-tracked Kenny Florian, who put in a yeomen's effort at UFC 131 against Diego Nunes for the chance.

Meanwhile, Hatsu Hioki was in Vancouver to talk contract with the UFC, and adds a big wild-card element to the increasing depths of the division. He was last seen slapping a triangle choke on Donald Sanchez in Japan.

Meanwhile, upstart Dustin Poirier continues to climb up the featherweight ranks as he won a hard-fought back-and-forth battle against London's Jason Young. In other words, things are heating up at 145 pounds.
