Power Rankings: Featherweight

Jose Aldo won't fight Anthony Pettis yet, so his gaze is best positioned on what's rumbling up behind him at 145. That noise is gathering momentum behind Chad "Money" Mendes and Ricardo "The Bully" Lamas. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see Aldo negotiate his way around both contenders, but because he already dispatched Mendes the prevailing sense among fans is a Mendes-Lamas bout makes the most sense. It's difficult to disagree. Aldo would be served well if a true contender emerges for the 145-pound UFC title, and no one would argue that the winner between Mendes or Lamas wouldn't fit. Two physical featherweights, both on hot streaks, each feeling as if they'd give Aldo a fight ... what's not to like?
