Power Rankings: Heavyweight

Heavyweight veterans have gone in drastically different directions as of late. In the positive group, you have guys like Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski and Gabriel Gonzaga, who have managed to maintain a high level (or in some cases, even raise it) despite hitting the plus side of 35. On the other side of the coin, you've got Frank Mir, Antonio Silva, Roy Nelson and Alistair Overeem, who have all suddenly hit skids they can't seem to bust out of. This division doesn't offer much in the form of mercy inside the cage, as one mistake can easily leave any of its members unconscious, but it's also forgiving in the sense that it's anybody's ballgame. We're coming off an interim title fight between two former UFC misfits who were never supposed to reach that kind of opportunity. It goes to argue any of the guys who have fallen outside the top 10 this year are only one or two high-profile wins away from jumping right back toward the top.
