What's more fascinating -- the fact that Benson Henderson chewed a toothpick through a fight, or that he punched fresh bruises onto Nate Diaz's thighs? His five-round decision was an esoteric performance on the surface, but Henderson reminded everyone that he is a tyrant of strength and conditioning in the cage. Diaz was no different than Mark Bocek, or Jim Miller, or Clay Guida in there against Henderson. More telling, Nate Diaz was very different from Nate Diaz, which is a credit to Henderson's ability to dictate his will. We didn't see Diaz's usual volume punching and aggression because the price was too steep to move forward. Now it's a question of who's next for the titleholder? Will it be current Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez? Or an equally big Gray Maynard? Or will it be the winner of Anthony Pettis/Donald Cerrone? You know what? Any of those match-ups would be compelling.
