Hector Lombard's UFC debut was about as anticlimactic as that time Geraldo went through Al Capone's vaults. He lost to Tim Boetsch in a sludgy, particularly inactive bout in Calgary (a card went up in flames). But his return was more like the promised Lombard, the one with the 20-fight win streak -- a devastating, blow-heavy stick of flat-footed dynamite that Rousimar Palhares had no answer for. Lombard has been secretly seething for a fight with Michael Bisping next, but it sounds like Bisping may be in line for a title shot if he can defeat Vitor Belfort in February. It's that kind of division right now, a grab bag for contention. Should Luke Rockhold make his way to the UFC (as looks like might be the case), perhaps Lombard could present himself as a welcoming committee?
