Georges St. Pierre has batted down all challengers going back to his first title defense (second stint) against Jon Fitch at UFC 87. Since then, he has beaten B.J. Penn, Thiago Alves, Dan Hardy, Josh Koscheck and Jake Shields -- and not just beaten them, but dominated them. Many of his victims went into tailspins after their losses. Some hover -- namely, teammates Fitch and Koscheck, who at this point must squirm at the mention of French-Canadians with three names. St. Pierre remains the head of the class at 170 pounds, with a defense against reigning Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz circled for Super Bowl weekend.

And that fight has taken on new dimensions. Namely that the always cool, ever-respectful St. Pierre has his dander up after Diaz essentially called him a faker in his post-UFC 137 microphone moment. This boiled St. Pierre's blood, and what was going to be a battle with Carlos Condit became a vendetta against Diaz. Meanwhile, Condit -- the moveable piece to the equation -- is now saddled with Josh Koscheck on the same UFC 143 card. Once again Condit will be on stand-by should Diaz do something ... say, extracurricular ... to forfeit his title shot. As for Fitch? He'll fight Johny Hendricks at UFC 141 and try to keep his perpetual No. 2 status in a dramatic 170-pound division.
