Power Rankings: Women's Pound-for-pound
Wednesday, Feb. 26
In February 2013, Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino held a news conference to announce she had signed a three-fight deal with Invicta FC, during which she got on a scale to show her natural weight was around 160 pounds. The gesture was meant to show how unrealistic it is for her to cut to 135 pounds for a fight against UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Justino's manager at the time, Tito Ortiz, used the word "impossible" several times. One year later, Justino is willing to try the impossible. Earlier this month, the 145-pound Invicta FC champion said she would attempt to cut to 135 for three fights: a bantamweight title fight in Invicta FC and then back-to-back fights in the UFC against Rousey. Whether she's capable of it, or an athletic commission would allow it, or the UFC would want to promote it -- all of those will be fun questions to answer as the year plays out.
