Former Bellator MMA welterweight champion Ben Askren will make his ONE FC debut against Bakhtiyar Abbasov on May 30 in Singapore.
The bout will headline an online pay-per-view event, "ONE FC 16: Honor & Glory," which is set to take place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang.
"Fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting the ONE FC debut of top welterweight Ben Askren," said ONE FC CEO Victor Cui in a statement. "He faces the toughest test of his career when he goes up against another top welterweight, Bakhtiyar Abbasov."
Askren (12-0) signed a two-year deal with the Asia-based promotion late last year, following failed negotiations with the UFC. A former U.S. Olympic wrestler, Askren won the 170-pound Bellator title in October 2010 and defended it four times.
The 29-year-old hasn't fought since a fourth-round TKO of Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 97 in July.
Abbasov (11-2) will also make his ONE FC debut. Fighting out of Azerbaijan, he carries a nine-fight win streak into the bout. Of his 11 pro wins, only one has gone the distance.
