UFC female bantamweight Cat Zingano will return to action in September.
Zingano (8-0) will fight Amanda Nunes at UFC 178 on Sept. 27 in Las Vegas. UFC officials confirmed the booking after an initial report by Yahoo! Sports.
The Colorado native has not fought since a TKO win over Miesha Tate in her UFC debut in April 2013. She was scheduled to coach opposite UFC champion Ronda Rousey on "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series last year but couldn't because of a knee injury.
Zingano, 32, also suffered a family tragedy in January, when her husband, Mauricio Zingano, killed himself at home near Denver.
ESPN.com ranks Zingano the No. 4 female pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Nunes (9-3) is 2-0 inside the Octagon with back-to-back first-round TKO wins in 2013. The Brazilian bantamweight is coming off a convincing finish over Germaine de Randamie at a UFC Fight Night for the Troops event in November.
