The promotion announced the pairing on Wednesday.
Kampmann (17-5) will return to the cage for the first time since a unanimous decision loss to Diego Sanchez at UFC on Versus 3 in March. He's 2-2 in his past four contests, but could easily have been 4-0.
In addition to the Sanchez loss, a somewhat controversial decision, Kampmann served as the first UFC test to newcomer Jake Shields at UFC 121 last October. The fight was razor-close, with Shields eventually taking a split decision that catapulted him to a title fight.
Story (13-4) looks to move forward from the frustrating circumstances surrounding his last fight in June. Less than one month after scoring a major upset win over Thiago Alves at UFC 130, Story accepted an offer to meet Nate Marquardt on short notice at UFC on Versus 4 in Pittsburgh.
Marquardt, however, failed his medicals one day before the fight and was immediately cut by the UFC. Late replacement Charlie Brenneman stepped into his place and controlled Story fairly handedly en route to a unanimous decision. The loss broke a six-fight win streak for Story.
