Report: Donald Cerrone set for May fight
UFC lightweight contender Donald Cerrone will face veteran Yves Edwards in Fairfax, Va., television network FX reported Tuesday night.
Cerrone and Edwards likely will fight on the main card of UFC on FX 3, which is tentatively scheduled for May 15. Light heavyweight contender Thiago Silva is scheduled to fight Igor Pokrajac at the event.
Cerrone (17-4) will be looking to get back in the win column after dropping a unanimous decision Dec. 30 to Nate Diaz. Before the loss, Cerrone had won six fights in a row.
Edwards (41-18-1) has struggled to find his rhythm in the cage recently. He was 2-2 in 2011. In his most recent bout, on Dec. 3, he lost by unanimous decision to Tony Ferguson.
