Chris Weidman-Mark Munoz July 11
UFC middleweight contender Mark Munoz will face undefeated Chris Weidman on July 11, according to a Fuel TV report on Tuesday night.
Munoz-Weidman is expected to headline the fourth UFC card on the network. A location for the event has not yet been determined.
"Finally the cat is out of the bag," Weidman said on Twitter. "So excited for this one."
Munoz (12-2) was scheduled to face Chael Sonnen in a middleweight title elimination bout on Jan. 28 in Chicago, but Munoz injured his right elbow and was forced to withdraw.
Sonnen went on to defeat Michael Bisping by unanimous decision. He will face champion Anderson Silva on July 7 in Las Vegas.
Weidman (8-0) is one of the fastest-rising fighters in UFC. During his most recent outing on Jan. 28 in Chicago, Weidman defeated former top contender Demian Maia by unanimous decision.
