Brazil-based website sportv.globo.com first reported the Jackson-Teixeira bout.
UFC 153 is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 13 at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The fight is expected to be Jackson's last under the UFC banner. He has repeatedly expressed displeasure with the promotion.
Jackson (32-10) was on the short end of a unanimous decision Feb. 26 against Ryan Bader in Saitama, Japan.
They competed at a catch weight of 211 pounds after Jackson failed to make the 206-pound nontitle light heavyweight limit.
It was the first time in his mixed martial arts career that the 34-year-old Jackson did not make weight for a fight. He pointed to a knee injury suffered while training for his failure to cut weight.
For Teixeira (18-2), the fight against Jackson will be his second appearance inside the Octagon.
He looked impressive in his debut with the promotion on May 26 at UFC 146 in Las Vegas -- finishing Kyle Kingsbury by first-round submission.
